I’m Leia M. Muniz—a wife, mother of three, and lifelong advocate for high‑quality early childhood education. When I’m not supporting programs and leaders, you’ll find my family and me boating on Mission Bay, cheering at football, volleyball, or dance events, or exploring new restaurants around San Diego.
My journey began at San Diego State University, where I earned my B.A. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Child and Family Development, followed by an M.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. I started as a before‑ and after‑school teacher with SAY San Diego and went on to serve as a preschool teacher, program specialist, Center Director, Manager of Orientation and Development, and Quality Business Partner.
Over the past 23+ years, I’ve coached early childhood leaders, facilitated professional development, supported nationwide programs with quality assessments, opened new centers, and mentored directors in building strong, confident teams. As a Center Director, I led my program to achieve NAEYC accreditation twice, and I remain an active NAEYC member and conference presenter, including NAEYC in Atlanta and CAAEYC for the past three years.

At Leia M. Muniz Consulting, I partner with early childhood education leaders and programs to build strong, high‑quality learning environments where children and families thrive. I provide the expertise and hands‑on support centers need to operate with excellence and confidence.
I support centers with:

I am dedicated to empowering early childhood professionals with the knowledge, tools, and confidence they need to deliver exceptional care and education. My work supports programs in creating safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environments—ensuring every child and family receives the highest level of quality and support.
